New Power MASTER models - beginning October 2002 we will deliver new generation of Power MASTER models, based on new generation of VSD drives from OMRON. New models will be marked by new model numbers, according the National Electric Code 2002 by rating in Amps, not in HP. To distinguish between them new model labels will use letter A (as a Amps). for example Power MASTER EG175A is designed for maximum current of the motor 75A. So select appropriate Power MASTER model look on motor nameplate data Amps and measured Amps and select Power Master A model with higher rating then nameplate data and measured Amps (whatever is higher).
New Power MASTER models are 100% NEC 2002 rated, easier and faster to install, generating less heat, allow automatic setup via greenBOX MASTER computer, with auto tune function and much more.

For the IWF Atlanta 2002 show ECOGATE is preparing three brand new products, revolutionary wireless craft TM Series system , third generation of ECOGATE blast gates and third generation of ECOGATE MASTER System . ECOGATE products improve new and existing industrial or home shop dust collection systems and save energy.
ECOGATE's newest home shop family member is our WIRELESS craft TM Series system . With minimal installation effort (no wires between gates and dust collector!), our gate will open or close your dust line, as needed, when your machine is in use. This will provide your system with better extraction power. Our craftRECEIVER TM to operate your dust collector can be purchased separately.
ECOGATE's third generation of blast gates will be also shown for the first time at the exhibition. The gates have the industrial-duty drive at the edge of the rotating blade, and an electronic clutch and limit switches. The rotating blade is completely covered (benefit: blade is protected against bending), new gear drive on the edge of rotating blade (benefit: higher torque, gates operate at higher negative pressure and higher air-velocities). These new design features are for industrial-duty systems and for a larger size of ducts.

ECOGATE has finished the installation of ECOGATE MASTER system for Hodges Laboratories at NC State University . Preliminary data shows approx. savings 70-72% on electricity consumption (compare to previously installed system), significant reduction of noise, and capture air velocity around 5000 FPM. The University will comprehensively test new system and publish the results.

ECOGATE received new orders for industrial MASTER Systems . Ecogate has new industrial projects including four systems for Haley Brothers, Inc., and three systems for Heppner Hardwood ( this is project of Shunt Electric, an authorized ECOGATE dealer). Installation team is currently working on MASTER systems for Leepers Stair (250 HP system) and GL Veneer factories (300 HP system). We are preparing ECOGATE projects (engineering) for Sundance Spas, Royal Cabinets, Martco Partnership, Fender USA, Sunset Moulding, and Arbek Fine Furniture.

Ecogate has finished new version 1.7 of our Preliminary Estimation Wizard, Prepare Project Wizard, Project Wizard, Final Quatotation Wizard . New features includes support for new 2002 incentive programs, support of new National Electric Code 2002 (selection of correct Power MASTER models), compatibility with Windows/Office XP and other important improvements . Available for all ECOGATE dealers for free .

ECOGATE has released new firmware version for the ECOGATE industrial MASTER System (version 2.05). A new version of the User, Installation, and Programming Guide for ECOGATE MASTER System is also available. New features includes additional protection of the ducting system against high negative pressure, support for new models of the PLC and terminals from OMRON.

electricity cost in California - SC Edison and Pacific Gas & Electric Co. are collecting hundreds of millions a month more then they are paying for electricity. The PUC projects that the two utilities will collect a total $2.7 billion extra this year. But the agency thus rebuffed calls for rate reductions. Commissioners want the extra billions used to keep California's two biggest utilities afloat and to help pay $7 billions in depth from state's voyage into the stormy deregulated electricity market. So, peak summer rates are up to 16.5 cents per kWh . ECOGATE offers high electricity savings on dust/mist/fume collecting systems to help factories to keep cost effective production.

California 20/20 rebate program 2002: This rebate is also available this year from the Department of Water Resources. It is available for customers who reduce their electricity usage by at least 20 percent during any of, or all of, their four monthly billing periods commencing on or after June 1st, and continuing through July, August and September 2002. Your electricity usage will be compared to your usage in the corresponding billing period of 2000. If you meet the eligibility Southern California Edison will automatically provide your 20% bill rebate under the program, during each month that you qualify, by reducing your usage by at least 20%. All of Southern California Edison's commercial, and industrial customers are eligible to participate in the California 20/20/ Rebate Program. New gate is available first for 4" duct and during the year we will introduce similar design for larger blast gate sizes (6", 8", 10", 12", 14", 16").

EnergyEcon (an authorized ECOGATE dealer) completed installations the first ECOGATE MASTER Systems on the East Coast for Newport Furniture in Vermont , and Legere Group in Connecticut (a total of four MASTER industrial systems, average electricity savings is 71%). At a same time the first ECOGATE MASTER System in OHIO was installed by Designer Showcases, Inc.

ECOGATE donates a new ECOGATE MASTER System and Norfab donates it's new Quick Fit ducting system to Hodges Laboratories at NC State University . The ECOGATE installation team will install the system in June, 2002. The University will comprehensively test both systems and publish the results as part of its experimental, educational, and demonstration programs.

Version 2.0 of the ECOde /i sensor for industrial systems (for ECOGATE PRO and MASTER Systems) was developed and is is now standard hardware in all new installations beginning by February 2002 or later. Sensor reliability has been improved over past versions, and the sensor to Greenbox computer connections have been made more user friendly. New connection sheets (schematic diagrams), version 2.03a are available.

ECOGATE has successfully completed the installation of five (5x 150 HP, two 100 HP) industrial MASTER systems for Decore-Ative Specialties, Inc., Elk Grove, CA bringing their total number of ECOGATE installations to 13 complete systems. In addition, Custom Mill (City of Industry, CA), Seleey Brothers (Brea, CA), and Sani-Top (Gardena, CA) all installed ECOGATE systems. The Installation team will continue installation of both a 300 HP system and a 100 HP system for GL Veneer, CA.
