This is accomplished by a simple principle. Ecogate automatically closes the gates to any non - operating machinery and regulates dust collector power while maintaininfg minimum air flow in the duct system. |
The Laws Of Physics Are On Your Side
In a typical factory only about 50% of the machinery is operating at any given time. This fact is not an organization or production flaw. Technological processes simply create unproductive periods on certain machines.
This applies to CNC machinery as well. CNC machinery runs full-time, but dust collection is needed only when material like wood is actually machined, and only in the part of the CNC machine involved.
In a normal factory, dust collection is running all the time to all the drops. Manually operated gates stay permanently open. The amount of energy wasted is huge.
For the ventilators of dust collecting machinery, the following basic physical laws apply: if you cut the total amount of air by 30%, then you use only 34% of your previous energy consumption (66% savings) to run the motor for the ventilator. The ECOGATE® System automatically closes unused ports, thus creating great savings.
Performance of the fans is governed by "Affinity Laws" (also known as "Fan Laws"): a small decrease in CFM (cubic feet per minute) volume by closing the gates (shown in red) translates into a significant decrease in energy consumption (HP, shown in green). That generates significant energy savings. The blue line represents static pressure (P).
Different Possibilities for Different Users
For an optimally designed existing dust collecting system
For an overcrowded existing dust collecting system
For design of new dust collecting system
-
Your new dust collector can be designed 20-40% smaller than the standard, unregulated design typically planned to service an entire plant with all ports open all the time. Consequently, your dust collector cost will be lower.
